I visited ette hotel in Kissimmee on a media visit recently to try their Afternoon Tea service at Salt & The Cellar by Chef Akira Back. The prix-fixe tea time brings snacks and sweets as well as your choice of a premium French tea. The food fixings come out in waves for a complete experience. It’s a relaxing and gourmet experience with everything made from scratch in-house.

The teas are Mariage Frères from France and I particularly loved the Rare Milky Blue Tea I chose to enjoy with my afternoon snacks. The tea comes from the region of Nantou in Taiwan. It has an interesting scent and an even better flavor. Tasting the tea reminded me of a long last love for tea that I haven’t explores in a few years. I have been slinging tea bags since the pandemic hit, only briefly enjoying a premium tea.

The tea service starts with assorted sandwiches, followed by scones, and then sweet cakes and assorted deserts at the end. My favorite of the three was the scones, which were probably the most savory and fresh that I have tasted in my life (should have probably enjoyed some when I was in France or Europe huh?).

As a huge coffee nerd nowadays, I would love to see something similar to this with high-end coffee sometime. The tea time was enjoyable though and I would recommend it to anyone. We witnessed other guests dressed up brunch attire and dresses/floral hats. It’s a good bonding experience or could even make a great date idea for something outside of the box.

The experience will cost $55 to $75 and is clearly targeting someone seeking something different from the normal brunch or lunch dining occasion. It’s not something most people could probably do every weekend, but great for travelers visiting Orlando or someone looking for something special and different.

I recommend it.
