TAMPA, FL – Goody Good Burgers in Hyde Park Village at 1601 W Swann Ave. is closing after not renewing their lease in South Tampa. The Hyde Park Village location was meant to revitalize a historic Tampa burger chain that restaurateur Richard Gonzmart felt passionate about bringing back to the people. The concept will live on at Tampa International Airport and at the Columbia Café in the future.
A statement posted to Instagram by the restaurant reads: “The 1905 Family Of Restaurants today announced that Goody Goody Burgers will not renew its lease in Hyde Park Village. Its last day of operations will be Sunday, Sept. 29 at 6 p.m.
This letter from President and Caretaker Richard Gonzmart explains the decision. Starting Tuesday, Sept. 24, Goody Goody will open from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. through Sunday, Sept. 29 and will offer a limited menu.
Goody Goody operations will continue in Airside C at Tampa International Airport. That location has been open since 2017. Also, Columbia Café at the Tampa Bay History Center on Water Street in Tampa will feature such Goody Goody favorites as Burger P.O.X., Cheeseburger P.O.X., Hyde Park Burger and Butterscotch Pie starting Oct. 1.”
