TAMPA, FL – Tampa’s first Nikkei concept, Maru Tampa, is opening soon on May 2, 2025, at Bayshore Gardens, next to Counter Culture in South Tampa just off Bayshore Boulevard. The restaurant is run by The Indigo Road Hospitality Group from Steve Palmer. Nikkei cuisine is the fusion of Japanese and Peruvian food and has become popular around the country in major cities including San Francisco, New York, and Los Angeles. The restaurant will have 60 inside seats and 30 outside seats, according to Tampa Bay Business Journal.

According to their website, the restaurant will sell the “world’s finest caviar, elevate your evening with a carefully curated champagne list, and explore the bold elegance of Nikkei cuisine—where Japanese technique and Peruvian ingredients come together in perfect balance.” A full menu is still not available, but social media accounts are now live for the concept.
