TAMPA, FL – Tampa Marriott Water Street is celebrating its 25 year silver anniversary this year in downtown Tampa. The hotel opened a time of change for Tampa as the Tampa Riverwalk project was still underway and downtown was preparing for a major transformation. The hotel will mark the occasion with a series of special events, giveaways, exclusive experiences, and nostalgic 2000s throwbacks.

“During the last quarter century, Tampa Marriott Water Street has been a home away from home where leisure and group travelers could make unforgettable memories. We take great pride in being part of this community’s history, continuing to evolve as guest needs do,” said General Manager Ron McAnaugh.

“In 2019 the property underwent a $50 million transformation that reimagined almost every aspect of the hotel, and this year we are proud to continue our evolution with the introduction of our latest al fresco dining concept, Riverwalk Terrace.”

The hotel is celebrating its 25^th anniversary along with couples who chose the Tampa Marriott Water Street as their wedding venue of choice during its inaugural year and celebrating those .

“We envisioned an outdoor wedding by the water, and Tampa Marriott Water Street delivered the perfect setting,” Kim and Howard shared. “Our celebration included an outdoor ceremony and a beautifully orchestrated cocktail reception – all made seamless by the hotel’s dedicated team, who went above and beyond to make sure we felt special and taken care of. We took off early for our honeymoon the next morning, but our guests couldn’t stop raving about their farewell brunch on the waterfront terrace, the present location of the hotel’s signature seafood restaurant, Anchor and Brine.” 

Here are ways the hotel is marking the occasion:

• Couples celebrating their own 25th anniversary this year, are invited to share their wedding photos on social media via Instagram for a chance to be featured on the hotel’s social media channels. Photos can be submitted via direct message to @marriottwaterstreet.
• 25 rooms will be randomly selected and secretly transformed into Silver Anniversary-themed guestrooms this year. Guests checking into these rooms will be gifted 25,000 Marriott Bonvoy points.
• The lobby will be transformed into a piano battleground for the newest Water Street Collection tradition, with a nostalgic twist for its Silver Anniversary edition on May 24, 2025.
• Specialty martinis popular in the early 2000s will be available at the hotel’s dining venues throughout the anniversary celebration, including Cosmos and Appletinis. 
• The hotel property will host a Champions throwback weekend paying homage to Water Street’s original sports bar with nostalgic dining specials and a showcase of vintage sports memorabilia.
• Guests can test their early 2000s knowledge with themed trivia by the pool, with opportunities to win prizes throughout the weekend.
