Oronzo Italian restaurant concept in Midtown Tampa shutters

TAMPA, FL – Fast-casual concept Oronzo Italian from Dan Bavaro has shuttered at Midtown Tampa at 1120 Gramercy Ln D-200. The concept was the brainchild initially of Front Burner Brands and Bavaro Hospitality. Dan Bavaro is known for the local Neapolitan pizza concept simply known as Bavaro’s in Tampa.

Oronzo was sold an attempt to streamline Italian into the fast-casual category and opened during the height of the pandemic, a challenging time for restaurant owners from numerous perspectives. One of their unique items on the menu was a spaghetti burrito. A location at New Tampa earlier also failed to succeed.

A notice posted to the website of Oronzo and social media reads:

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the closure of Oronzo. Since our opening in 2020, during the unprecedented challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have strived to bring you an uncommon Italian culinary experience and a welcoming atmosphere. However, despite our best efforts and the unwavering support of our local community and dedicated team, we find ourselves facing the difficult decision to close our doors.

The journey of building and nurturing this brand has been filled with both triumphs and tribulations. We have weathered countless storms together, overcoming obstacles that we never could have anticipated. Through it all, we have been immensely grateful for the opportunity to serve you and to create lasting memories.

To our loyal patrons, your continued support and patronage have been the lifeblood of Oronzo. We are endlessly thankful for your dedication and enthusiasm for our brand’s offerings. Your support has not only sustained us but has fueled us to keep going.

As we say goodbye, we reflect with gratitude on the new relationships and the invaluable lessons we have learned along the way. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for being a part of our journey. Your support has meant more to us than words can express.

With deepest gratitude,

Dan Bavaro & The Oronzo Family
