Election Day is special and as journalists we normally celebrate the occasion by ordering pizza and furiously updating our feeds on the latest results. Today is no different. Due Amici: One of my favorite spots in Ybor City. Due Amici sells much more than just pizza, but they do pizza very well. They are available online as well, but definitely share the pie because these are giant slices of pizza. My favorite is their Buffalo Pizza followed by their classic Pepperoni. Cappy’s Pizza: A bit of a Tampa institution, Cappy’s is located in New Tampa, Seminole Heights, and Riverview. They have Chicago-style deep dish and NY-style thin crust. True Food Kitchen: It probably isn’t the first place you think of when you think of pizza, but this healthy food concept that recently opened at Midtown Tampa makes delicious pizza. The butternut squash pizza I tried on my first visit was delicious and I am sure whatever specialities they are running will also not disappoint those of us with a healthier palate. 3645 Midtown Dr, Tampa, FL 33607
Grimaldi’s Pizza: Hailing from actual New York, Grimaldi’s is always a great visit and not a bad pick-up option if you live in the Westshore area. Their tomato sauce is superb and so are the roasted red peppers there. It takes a while to make, so call ahead. 253 Westshore Plz, Tampa, FL 33609
Sally O’Neals Pizza Hotline: South Tampa residents know Sally’s well. They make incredible pizza and are a perfect choice if you live near SoHo or are willing to make the trek over. 1319 S. Howard Ave., Tampa, FL 33606
Fireside House Pizza: Some of the most delicious wood-fired pizza I have ever enjoyed the pleasure of eating, and delicious wings to boot. If you live in Pinellas, this is one of your best pizza options and they do not disappoint. 1104 Nebraska Ave Palm Harbor, FL 34683
