I recently ordered Yamamotoyama Green Tea with Yuzu Ginger off Amazon. I regularly drink their Hojicha, Genmaicha, and Jasmine green teas so wanted to see if this tea would do it for me. I generally like yuzu-flavored drinks and drink green tea mostly.
That said this one has a very similar taste to a Lemon Ginger herbal tea. The yuzu is cut by the green tea and ends up tasting just like a slight hint of lemon. Not bad really and I like the fact that there is green tea in it for the health benefits I might not get in an herbal tea. Ingredients are Premium Green Tea, Yuzu Extract, Ginger Root, Natural Lime Flavor, Natural Ginger Flavor. It is probably the lime that doesn’t quite fit into the mix.
Overall, it was just okay and would consider having as a reserve tea for when I am not feeling like a standard green tea. It needs some sweetener to it, so I sweetened with some raw honey. The price was fair at tea bags for under $6.
Yamamotoyama goes back to 1690 in Japan and originally was in Kyoto before moving to Tokyo and opening a tea shop, according to their company website. They product organic green tea according to methods developed over 330 years ago. Yamamotoyama U.S.A. in Los Angeles, CA opened in 1975 for international expansion including packaging and processing.
