SHINJUKU, TOKYO, JAPAN – Finding an airbnb in Japan can be a complicated effort sometimes. The instructions are not always completely clear. For a one night stay during my last trip to Japan we stayed at Central Shinjuku Tokyo Studio Free WiFi & Lift. The apartment is located about a 10 minute walk from Shinjuku JR Station. If you have heavy luggage, I would recommend calling a rideshare because there are a number of lights and streets, but its still pretty convenient before big trips.
This is a no frills apartment that really feels like somewhere Japanese people would actually live for a rental. It has all your basic amenities and was clean during our stay. The room is just a small bedroom with a burner and some cookware. The hotel has fast-Wifi and the air-conditioning worked well. The bed was comfortable enough.

The Airbnb host is responsive to messages and helpful so that was a nice plus.

Getting into the building was a bit of hassle as you have to put in the code every time and quickly get through the door, but once we figured it out – it wasn’t so bad. The neighborhood itself was convenient and there were plenty of shops and restaurants close by. We also made a walk to some other areas for nightlife including a Korean neighborhood with bars and restaurants.
Overall, I would recommend it if you are looking for an Airbnb in the area, but I didn’t find it particularly fascinating or remarkable.
