ORLANDO, FL – There is no shortage of cafes around the Mills 50 neighborhood in Orlando. Orlando as a city has no shortage of cafes that easily take on the bigger chains. Mills 50 is hip thanks to the younger crowds and nightlife and restaurants in the area.
Here are my favorite spots in the area:
Haan Coffee: Haan Coffee might be my favorite coffee shop in the U.S.A. Their coffee is superb (do not miss their espresso tonic or pour overs for true coffee fans). I never get tired of it and the seasonal drinks are just as good their regular menu. It’s no secret that this place is popular and its always crowded. It’s the hip place to be. Haan is modeled after coffee shops and cafes in Seoul, which is probably one of the best places in the world for people who love coffee shops. As a consequence, there is a lack of seating inside and good luck finding one, despite best efforts the shop has a hard time keeping seating open and getting people to put away their laptops. Their breakfast croffle is also delicious. 1235 E Colonial Dr, Orlando, FL 32803. haancoffee.com
Framework Craft Coffee House: This is another great cafe in the area. The baristas are friendly, and it feels more like an old school coffee house. Prices are fair and they have Wi-Fi and plugs and a little parking in the back. Both the drinks on the coffee and the tea menu are good. 1201 N Mills Ave, Orlando, FL 32803. frameworkcoffeehouse.com
KORI Bakery & Dessert: This place is for those with a sweet tooth. For me, its a little too sweet, but the environment is very nice. Sleek wooden tables and communal areas with plugs and Wi-Fi to study or get things done. It’s spacious like coffee shops and cafes should be. It has steady crowds. Teas on the pricier side, but not a bad deal really. They regular run deals as well. 721 N Mills Ave, Orlando, FL 32803.
The Burrow Cafe and Play: This cafe is a mixture of a bar, cafe, and a childcare facility with a sound insulated place for children to play. It’s a strange mixture, but it seems to work as its always busy. The coffee isn’t half bad and they have plenty of plugs and Wi-Fi as well as a quiet room for those who need more silence to focus. I’ve never seen anything like it. Really great option for parents and when the other shops are too crowded. 618 N Mills Ave, Orlando, FL 32803.
ROYALTEA: Still probably my favorite place for tea in Orlando. It does seem to be losing some its allure from when it first opened (I would intentionally stop in Orlando just to go there). The inside needs a refresh and feels dated and worn. My Jasmine tea with citrus is still good though. 714 N Mills Ave, Orlando, FL 32803.
